Trickster is a webtoon created by Mas Hiro and Kairnn in 2016. It tells the story of Angga, a student who attends a school with strict rules and a point system. Students risk expulsion if their points fall below a certain threshold. Angga is known for his unique hobby: cheating.

The school is not just a place to learn but also has a system of points and secret agents called Netra who monitor students’ every move. Netra agents are tasked with controlling and punishing students who break the rules.

However, as Angga begins to adapt to this strange school, strange events begin to occur, accompanied by the mysterious statement that the enemy of students is the school itself, corrupt teachers, and Netra, who are all considered intellectual assassins.

Trickster, a mysterious figure, appears to support students in their rebellion against the strange rules that are considered harmful to them. Trickster has a mission to free students from the shackles of oppressive educational rules.

Review

The beginning of the webtoon is a bit slow, but the story becomes more interesting as it progresses. The unique concept of the story is what makes it stand out.

The main character, Rian, is a sociopath who becomes concerned about the welfare of other students. However, this change in attitude is not clearly shown. Angga, who is initially a strong character, becomes less important in the middle of the story.

The art and coloring in the webtoon are excellent. The detail of the drawings, the facial expressions of the characters, and the background setting create an atmosphere that suits the theme of the story.

However, the webtoon has some flaws. Many unnecessary scenes appear, such as James and Irene following their sister’s novel. These scenes are irrelevant and confusing.

The role of Netra in the story is also not very important and is not well explored. The main characters Rian and James also lack depth, making it difficult for readers to sympathize with them.

Overall, Trickster is a unique webtoon that combines comedy and mystery in a school setting with crazy rules. Despite its flaws in character development and plot, the strong visual elements keep the reader engaged until the end.

I would recommend this webtoon to readers who are looking for a unique and interesting story. However, readers who are looking for a well-developed plot and characters may be disappointed.
